Mint Street Park opened

The new Mint Street Park has been opened by the Mayor of Southwark.

There is a path lit from below and tiered grass with seating.

Children helped plant bulbs and scatter coins in the resin around the plaque as it was placed in the ground.

Present was Jack Hames of Copyprints who has a view of the garden from his home and remembers when the site was a factory and a garage.

The park is yet another achievement for the Bankside Open Spaces Trust which has confirmed Vicky Lawrence's appointment as Director.

A community gardener should be in post shortly.
