SE1 landmarks on the move in 'future London' shock

Visit London - the agency charged with promoting tourism and business travel in the capital - has unveiled a map showing some of the major projects in the pipeline between now and 2012.

This map contains some alarming news which will undoubtedly cause some controversy:

The map places the soon-to-be-regenerated Elephant and Castle roughly where Brixton can be found today.

Waterloo Station is also on the move - to the site currently occupied by Borough Market.

The London Bridge Tower will have to be renamed, as it is apparently going to be built on the green space we currently know as Southwark Park.

Thameslink 2000 and Crossrail will apparently have their interchange in the middle of the Thames at London Bridge, rather than at Farringdon as previously envisaged.

And to crown it all, Battersea Power Station is to be relocated to Vauxhall Cross...
