What is it with the Old Vic and its first nights?

They're not having much luck down at the Old Vic. This time last year, the first night of Aladdin was cancelled due to technical difficulties. Then in October there was a power cut which held up the first night of Trevor Nunn's production of Richard II.

And then on Friday night - press night - the 2005 revival of Aladdin was halted after 15 minutes due to a technical problem with the set. Fortunately it was soon fixed and the performance was able to resume.
